A Daily Prebiotic That I Can Trust

When we think about health, we often focus on what to remove from our diets. However, true wellness is also about what we add—especially when it comes to supporting our digestive system.

I’ve been a fan of prebiotics for a while – starting back when my 12 year old was just a little guy and needed some digestive help. But not all prebiotics are created equal. My whole family Young Living’s Daily Prebiotic Fiber powder (formerly known as ICP Daily if you’re a long-time YL’er) is a premium, plant-based supplement designed to optimize digestion and fuel your body’s good bacteria. Featuring a delicious, natural passionfruit flavor, this daily drink mix dissolves effortlessly into liquids without the gritty clumping common to traditional fiber powders.

This and Young Living’s Collagen Powder were the first two supplements that I have been using daily. I found that it was very supportive in my daily routine. At the age of 40, I know that collagen, fiber and protein are important for my health and these were supplements that were very easy to add in. I also like the taste and texture of this fiber powder which makes it easy to incorporate into my routine.

The Ingredient Breakdown: Science Meets Botanicals
I’m big on purity and I want to know what I’m putting into my body. I don’t like microplastics in my cutting boards. So why would I put something directly into my body without knowing what’s in there? Young Living sets itself apart by avoiding synthetic fillers and artificial ingredients. Their clean, vegan-friendly formula pairs advanced plant prebiotics with therapeutic-grade essential oils.

Agave Inulin: This plant-based prebiotic fiber is sourced from the Agave tequilana plant. It provides a natural feeling of fullness that helps me make it to the next (hopefully well-balanced) meal without feeling hungry.

Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum: A gentle, non-GMO soluble fiber that feeds beneficial gut bacteria while remaining easy on sensitive stomachs.

Prickly Pear Cactus Extract: A targeted botanical ingredient that helps with intestinal health.

Premium ICP Essential Oil Blend: Formulated by Dr. Gary Young, this proprietary blend includes Fennel, Anise, Tarragon, Ginger, Lemongrass, and Rosemary essential oils to maximize digestive comfort and aid detoxification.

Many people take probiotics to introduce good bacteria into their system, but those bacteria need nourishment to survive. Prebiotics act as the literal “food” for your microbiome, turning your gut into a thriving ecosystem. Because roughly 70% of your immune system lives in your gut, improving your digestive health directly supports your cardiovascular and immune systems.

Natural Detoxification: The fibers bind to unwanted metabolic byproducts, naturally assisting your liver and colon in flushing out toxins.

My Favorite Ways to Update Your Morning Ritual
I’ve found that this works great on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before my breakfast. I’ve toyed with a lot of different methods because I like to mix it up, and I generally combine this with my daily collagen.

The Tropical Morning Splash: Stir one scoop into 8 ounces of chilled water for a refreshing, passionfruit-forward start to your day.

The “One-Two Punch” Wellness Drink: Combine one scoop of prebiotic fiber with a scoop of NingXia Greens and 2 ounces of antioxidant-rich NingXia Red juice.

The Satiety Smoothie: Blend the powder directly into your daily protein or fruit smoothie to keep you feeling full and satisfied all morning long.

Finally Finding the Right Collagen

Over the last year, I started using the Young Living Inner Beauty Collagen Powder.  Prior to that I had been using a different collagen product.  It claimed that you could put it in whatever you wanted to drink and it would dissolve.  I found that not to be true.  It would clump up and it had a weird taste to it. The only way I could use it was in a smoothie.  But I didn’t always want to make a smoothie.  So I looked elsewhere.

And I found the Young Living’s Inner Beauty Collagen.  It has been a game changer.  It is tasteless and it does not clump like the other one did.  I can in fact use it in just water.  Each morning, I combine the collagen powder and the Daily Prebiotic Fiber.  I am noticing a difference in the health/strength of my nails, some of the fine lines, and skin texture.

You can find my list of Daily Supplements here.

Young Living’s Inner Beauty Collagen powder is a clean, filler-free dietary supplement engineered to boost your natural radiance from the inside out. As we navigate our mid-20s and beyond, our bodies naturally begin to produce less collagen, which can lead to dull skin, fine lines, and brittle nails. While many turn to topical lotions, true vitality starts from within.

By incorporating this into your morning routine, you can experience noticeable improvements in skin hydration, hair volume, and nail strength.

The Ingredient Breakdown: What is Inside?

Unlike standard collagen supplements that fill their tubs with artificial additives and sugars, Young Living prioritizes a clean, bioavailable formula that your body can actually use.

  • Type I Marine Collagen: This is sourced from sustainable fish scales and skin.  It is highly soluble and far more absorbable by the human body than the many common bovine options.
  • Peach Ceramides: Derived naturally from Japanese peaches, these work to rebuild the skin’s moisture barrier and significantly decrease dryness.
  • Hyaluronic Acid: This molecule holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, helping your skin look plump (but like in a good way) and youthful.
  • Biotin & Vitamin C: Essential nutrients that stimulate cell regeneration in your hair and nails while providing vital immune support.
  • Prebiotic Fiber: Supports a balanced gut microbiome, which directly influences the clarity and health of your skin.

Remember:  Consistency is key when using any supplement.  For me, I’ve noticed real results.  I see fewer fine lines and wrinkles, stronger hair and nails.  Most importantly, I can actually use it and see the benefits since it is actually odor-free and tasteless.

How to Use Inner Beauty Collagen in Your Routine:

Because this powder is entirely tasteless, odorless, and heat-stable, it is incredibly easy to stack onto your existing habits. You can stir a scoop directly into your warm morning brew for an effortless morning ritual.  I’m also a fan of mixing one scoop of collagen powder with 2 ounces of NingXia Red (full of antioxidants) and a splash of sparkling water.  I’ve also seen this in baked goods, including 2-4 scoops mixed in to the batter of some muffins, pancakes, or baked goods for a stealthy protein boost.

Better Sleep Through Lavender

A couple years ago, I started struggling with sleep. I blame the kids. And my husband. It certainly can’t be my fault, right? I would be up in the middle of the night with my brain running nonstop. It became a real struggle for a couple hours. I remembered that a friend of mine had given me lavender to rub on the bottoms of my feet when I was pregnant with our first kiddo. So I went back to that routine and it has helped me significantly. On days that I am feeling more anxious, I will use the roller ball attachments (makes life easier) and roll the lavender essential oil on the bottoms of my feet, on my wrists, and on the back of the neck. I have found that it has cut down on my middle of the night awakenings. I keep it next to the bed and if there is a time that I wake up, I can easily roll on the oil and it helps me go back to sleep.

Why Lavender Oil Promotes Deep Rest
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is famous for its soothing aroma. But its benefits are rooted in science, not just folklore.  Pure lavender essential oil contains high levels of linalyl acetate and linalool. These natural plant constituents interact with the olfactory system to signal the brain to slow down, reduce tension, and enter a state of relaxation.

Not all essential oils are created equal. Many grocery store oils or things you find on Amazon are stretched with synthetic fragrances or chemical fillers. Young Living’s strict Seed to Seal quality commitment ensures you are breathing in 100% pure, therapeutic-grade lavender. There are no synthetics, no toxins, no shortcuts, and no compromises.

Below are some of the ways I’ve used lavender to help improve my sleep. I hope it can help you! For me, I get the best results when I start the sleep routine 30 minutes before my head hits the pillow.

1. Fill the Air (Aromatic)
Diffusing is the easiest way to impact the environment of your entire bedroom.
The Method: Add 5–8 drops of Lavender oil to your Young Living diffuser.
Pro Tip: Turn it on 20-30 minutes before bed and close the bedroom door so the room is ready for you.

2. Create a Weighted Pillow Mist (DIY Spray)
This is a great way to mist your linens so you breathe in the calming aroma every time you move.
The Method: Mix 10 drops of Lavender oil, 1 teaspoon of witch hazel, and 2 ounces of distilled water in a glass spray bottle.
The Routine: Lightly shake and mist your sheets and pillows before climbing into bed.

3. Apply to Pulse Points (Topical)
Applying oil topically allows your skin to absorb the benefits while providing a constant personal scent bubble.
The Method: Mix 2–3 drops of Lavender with a pump of Young Living V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex.
The Routine: Rub it on the bottoms of your feet, your wrists, and the back of your neck.

4. Sip a Calming Evening Tea (Ingestion)
This is a nice idea, but if you’re like me, finding a few minutes for a calming tea amidst the daily struggle is almost impossible. But if you have the time, internal support can ground your body from the inside out.
The Method: Use Young Living Lavender Vitality oil (labeled specifically for dietary use).
The Routine: Add 1 drop of Lavender Vitality and 1 teaspoon of honey to a warm mug of chamomile tea.

SleepyIze - Our First Experience

My first introduction into Young Living essential Oils was on a trip with long time friends.  With a lot of excitement, our oldest tends to struggle calming down for bed. On that trip, good friends suggested trying SleepyIze to help calm his body before bed.

SleepyIze blend features several calming botanicals:
  • Lavender: Known for creating a serene environment.
  • Roman Chamomile: Provides a sweet, relaxing aroma.
  • Bergamot & Geranium: Help build a peaceful aromatic experience.
  • Additional Oils: Includes Sacred Frankincense, Tangerine, Valerian, and Rue for deep relaxation.

It really helped to settle our son on that trip and we have incorporated into our nighttime routine. Both he and his brother have a Feather Owl Diffuser which they love and asked for us fill nightly.

When we travel, we take the SleepyIze roll on. It helps us to implement the nighttime routine in new environments. When applying it, we put it on the bottoms of their feet, on their wrists, and on the back of their neck.

For our family, SleepyIze has been a game changer in helping calm our kiddos before sleep. It has helped us to keep those routines and helped them to create a calm peaceful environment in which to sleep.

If you want to try this out for your kiddos (or your husband), check them out on the YL website.
